AMID Motorcycle Lifestyle Show Promises a Weekend Blast for Bikers

Personalities from the biking world will keep show-goers entertained throughout the four-day event, with competitions for ordinary bikers to enter as well as skill displays from some of our top motorcyclists. There will also be a rock music act outside Hall 5 each day at 12 noon and 3 pm.

In addition, the BIKE SHOW in Hall 5 will be hosted by top Ignition TV biking personalities Matt Durrans and Harry Fisher. The show-section features more than 100 exhibitors, with stands for all the major motorcycle importers and distributors as well as motorcycling lifestyle accessories. A number of new exciting motorcycles are being launched at the show, which has created huge excitement amongst the SA motorcycle industry.

On Thursday at the opening breakfast for the event, a BMW R1200 GS was named as the Pirelli Bike of the Year, and this will be on display, as well as the best from the likes of Yamaha, Triumph, Moto Guzzi, and lots more, as well as some mouth-watering classic motorcycles.

Motorcyclists wishing to take part in the show can enter two competitions being held. On Friday a Concours D’ Elegance will be held, with entries closing at 10 am, after which judging of the most perfect bike will begin. Bikers wishing to enter their machine can enter at Gate 6 at Nasrec.

Each day there will also be lots of fun on offer at the Big Boy Scooter Track.

On Saturday there will be a Show and Shine competition, hosted by Pierre Cronje, the experienced expert who hosts a similar event at the 1000 Bikes Show each year. Again, bikers can enter their bikes at Gate 6 for this competition

On Sunday it will be all action at the AMiD bike show. The Northern regions Trials Club will hosting an event at the show, and there will also be a SuperMoto race organised by WOMZA.

On each day during the show, the renowned Brian Capper will be giving trick trials-bike riding displays as he did at the previous AMiD Motorcycle Show held at Nasrec in 2012.

In addition to all the biking action the show also runs concurrently with the Johannesburg Boat Show and the Outdoor Lifestyle Show. Effectively, three great lifestyle-compatible shows for the price of one!
