21 December 2012 - End of the 13th Baktun - (Fim do Calendário Maya)

End of the 13th Baktun

Today on December 21, 2012 the Mayan Calendar have come to its official end and as the day is almost over it is almost safe to say that the world is not going to explode or get destroyed today. We still have a few hours left of 21 December 2012 but no major apocalyptical destructions have taken place yet and in countries like New Zealand, Australia and India it is already the 22nd of December 2012.

The Mayan ancient people have created the Mayan Calendar which were primarily used to predict archeology, farming and economic conditions. They have created the calendar to display the years and dates up to the 21 December 2012 and many conspiracy theories jumped on to the theory that the world will come to an end with the  End of the 13th Baktun in layman's terms when the Mayan Calendar comes to an end.

"The End of the 13th Baktun in Brazil is Fim do Calendário Maya"

Today Google have displayed there "End of the 13th Baktun

"

google doodle in only a selected few countries, at first I believed that Google did not have a 21 December 2012 Google Doodle until I was corrected by some of the readers of the 3D Car Shows site which were indeed able to see the End of the 13th Baktun Google doodle in countries like the United Kingdom, Brazil and Mexico to name a few, for some reason Google skipped countries like India, New Zealand, South Africa and Australia and it is not yet confirmed that the End of the 13th Baktun Google Doodle is even being displayed in the USA and Canada.

Fim do Calendário Maya

It might not be the end of the world, but it is definitely surprising that Google have chosen such a major historical event to be only represented in some countries and not internationally!

In the Google doodle there is no sign of the Mayan calendar, but it is evident from the Mayan hyrographics and stone drawings that the Google Doodle represent the end of the Mayan Calendar (End of the 13th Baktun)

I actually wish that someone at Google will read this article and tell us why Google have chosen not to make the 21 December 2012 Google Doodle available in all countries! If you have any theories why the doodle were only available in some countries, please share it below in the comments section!

In the meantime, as we count the last hours in the "End of the 13th Baktun" and wave the 21 December 2012 Doomsday goodbye I would like to wish everyone that celebrates Christmas a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

PS: Those of you who haven't done there Christmas shopping yet, because you were kind of hoping for the end of the world, you now need to rush and go do your Christmas shopping, there is only 3 days left until Christmas!
