Citroën’s lower emissions, more fuel efficient and newly restyled Berlingo and Dispatch LCV models make their UK debut at the CV Show (April 24 -26, Stand 2F60, Hall 2, NEC). These important models will be shown as part of a seven vehicle line-up representing the award-winning Citroën LCV range - including the latest Euro 5 Nemo, Berlingo XTR+, two Relay Enterprise panel vans and a Relay Specialist tipper.

Scott Michael, Citroën’s Commercial Vehicle Operations Manager, commented:“The 2012 Berlingo and Dispatch ranges offer further fuel economy gains and emissions reduction benefits. These improvements will put the Berlingo and Dispatch models even further ahead of their competitors.”

2012 BERLINGO

Externally, all 2012 Berlingos - Citroën’s best-selling LCV - gain a restyled front end, which includes a wider grille, new chevron badge and a new headlight layout. The lower part of the grille, with its wider air intake, can be fitted with optional static cornering lights integrated with the fog lights. The latest Berlingo also has more aerodynamic door mirrors to help reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The rear has revised badging and all Berlingo vans, except X models, gain new ‘Feroe’ wheel trims and new ‘Gazyban’ trim in the cab.

As part of the 2012 changes, Berlingo HDi 75 manual L1 625 X, LX and Enterprise vans now have an improved  combined cycle fuel economy figure of 55.4mpg (previously 54.3mpg) and lower CO2 emissions of 133g/km (previously 136g/km). The combined cycle fuel economy of Berlingo HDi 90 manual L1 models has also improved to 53.3mpg (previously 52.3mpg) and CO2 emissions have been reduced to 138g/km (previously 140g/km). Fuel economy and emissions of Euro 5 Berlingo Airdream and all Berlingo L2 models are unchanged. Details of 2012 Berlingo range fuel economy, CO2 emissions and weights are included in the table attached to this release.

The 2012 Berlingo maintains its reputation as the most versatile high cube van range available in the UK. The latest Berlingo is offered, dependent on model, with a choice of three trim levels and five power trains (1 x petrol & 4 x diesel). As part of this choice, the 2012 Berlingo includes the advanced e-HDi 90 Airdream EGS6, which features micro-hybrid technology with Stop & Start and a six-speed automated manual gearbox. This drivetrain delivers CO2 emissions from just 123g/km and a combined cycle fuel economy figure of up to 60.1mpg.

The Berlingo range includes L1 and L2 versions, which provide a maximum load capacity of up to 4.1m3, a 2-seater Extenso® multi-function folding passenger seat (excluding X models), 625, 750 and 850kg payloads, a 5-seat crew van, an enhanced traction XTR+ van and a platform cab for special bodywork. All 2012 Berlingo panel vans are fitted, as standard, with Citroën’s unique Trafficmaster Smartnav satellite navigation system, which also includes Trackstar stolen vehicle tracking. At the CV Show the Berlingo range will be represented by a Berlingo Enterprise van and an enhanced traction Berlingo XTR+ van.

2012 DISPATCH

The 2012 Dispatch includes a newly restyled exterior, which sees revisions to the front grille, exterior door handles, door mirrors and headlamps. To further improve this model’s fuel economy and to cut its CO2emissions, the 2012 Dispatch also benefits from the addition of aerodynamic panels underneath the body and a ‘volt control’ function to optimise battery charge management by the alternator.

As a result, the 2012 Dispatch, which is now available with a choice of HDi 90 manual, new HDi 95 6-speed manual and HDi 125 6-speed manual powertrains, boasts a significant fuel economy improvement of up to 6.3% and up to 15g/km emission reduction. This sees the CO2emissions of this popular panel van fall to as low as 168g/km.  Details of 2012 Dispatch range fuel economy, CO2 emissions and weights are included in the table attached to this release.

In addition, the 2012 Dispatch range now includes the new options of a tailgate on L1H1 and L2H1 panel vans and a new Grip Control option pack. The new Dispatch Grip Control option pack includes ESP, Traction Control and Hill Start Assist as well as 16in Michelin Agilis tyres. With the Grip Control pack, the driver can select from four modes - normal, all-terrain, snow or sand - and this advanced anti-skid option then automatically adapts to take best advantage of the available traction. This is a valuable option for those operators requiring enhanced traction capability.

The 2012 Dispatch range includes L1 and L2 versions, as well as a choice of two roof heights (H1 & H2). These provide a maximum load capacity of 7m3. All Dispatch panel vans have a dual passenger seat and twin side load doors, and are available in standard and Enterprise trim with a choice of 1,000 or 1,200kg payloads. The range also includes a 6-seat crew van and a platform cab for special bodywork.  Like Berlingo, all Dispatch panel vans are fitted, as standard, with Citroën’s unique Trafficmaster Smartnav satellite navigation system and Trackstar stolen vehicle tracking.  At the CV Show the Dispatch range will be represented by an Enterprise van.
