EXTERIOR:
The new TATA Aria continues to evolve the new TATA Motors design language.

The front of the vehicle is characterized by its aggressive but handsome bonnet line, and sharply styled headlamps. These combine to give the vehicle significant road presence. A wide chromed grille with horizontal slats adds to the classy look. Fog lamps are housed in a separate lower grille.

The side profile is dominated by a sweeping arc roofline, to give the Aria a sporty, dynamic dimension. The muscular wheel arches with large 17” alloy wheels and tyres further accentuate these characteristics. The large rear view mirrors contain turn indicators, and fold away to aid parking in narrow spaces.

The rear of the vehicle has TATA signature vertically stacked tail-lamps, with dual chromed oval exhaust tips neatly integrated into the rear bumper.

INTERIOR:
The interior of the TATA Aria is a clean-sheet new design, with a focus on space and flexibility.

Fold flat seating system: The second-row seats and the third-row seats don’t have to be removed from the vehicle to liberate additional luggage space. The seats fold down to form a flat floor, giving various seating combinations.

Driver’s controls: Seated in the 6 way manually adjustable nicely bolstered driver’s seat, the pilot enjoys an up-on-high view of the road, as also the vertically themed center console and two-toned dashboard on the inside.

This sense of involvement is enhanced with all the essential controls neatly arrayed around, with infotainment controls on the steering wheel.

Supportive and comfortable seating: Taking full advantage of the large interior room, there is an extensive amount of space to accommodate 5 7 occupants within a body height range of 95th percentile, ensuring that almost everyone will find a comfortable seating position. Available leather seats add to the luxury experience.

Space and comfort for second-row passengers: The second-row seat has an adjustable seat back recliner, and can be slid back and forth to apportion leg-room with the third row. The second-row can also be split (60:40) folded to accommodate longer loads. Foldable picnic tables are included in the backs of the driver’s and codriver’s seats.

Climate control: Air conditioning is standard equipment on all new Aria models, and for heightened interior climate control, Automatic Temperature Control is available.

Luggage space: In addition to the fold flat seating, with all seats raised in position, Aria offers a luggage volume of 342 litres. With the third row of seats folded, Aria offers 973 litres of volume behind the seatbacks of the second row. Maximum luggage capacity is a voluminous 1970 litres (all rear seats down, loaded to roof).

With all rear seats folded flat, the load floor offers a space 1.78m deep and 1.13m wide.

Floor level cargo box: Behind the third seat row, customers will find a storage box integrated into the floor.

Stowage space: Glove box, console box, cup holders and bottle holders abound in the vehicle.

Infotainment: The TATA Aria will be available with an excellent audio and communications system, with steering-wheel mounted control switches providing full driver control. The system offers Bluetooth functionality, a USB port, an auxilliary input port and a navigation system.

Cruise Control: The TATA Aria will have cruise control available on select versions.

SAFETY:

The TATA Aria is equipped with an impressive array of active safety features. The basis of this is the vehicle’s body-on-frame structure, with special crumple zones and side impact beams designed to reduce the deformation of the passenger compartment.

These are complemented by 6 airbags, including side airbags and inflatable curtain airbags.

An excellent suspension system, with independent front and coil sprung beam axle rear, provides comfort in all road conditions, and can be combined with the vehicle’s ESC+TCS system for safer dynamic vehicle behaviour under all driving and weather conditions.

Standard disc brakes on all four wheels combine with ABS provides assured stopping performance at all times.

To assist with parking, versions of the Aria are equipped with a reverse camera or with ultrasonic distance-sensing parking aid

POWER TRAIN:
The Aria engine is the tried and trusted 2.2 litre DICOR 140 PS (103 kW), 320 Nm engine. It is paired with the next generation G76 Mark II 5 speed manual transmission.

These combine to provide an eco-conscious 7.0 litres / 100 km of fuel economy, with an overall CO2 rating of 185 gm / km.
