Siegfried is an entrepreneur and businessman who has been involved in the sport for the last 10 years. He started racing in 2004 alongside Gary Bertholdt in a Class D. They had their first win in a Class A Special later that year in Mafeking.

He has raced with a few other drivers since then and won numerous races since then as navigator. Some races they won by starting from the front and some from back. Every win is special, but the three consecutive Botswana 1000 Desert Races he won as navigator will always be a highlight of his racing career.

He says that he believes that he adds value to the team because he always keeps calm and focussed in the races. He keeps fit by riding mountain bike and playing squash. Squash gives you the fitness when you do need to change flat wheels, while long mountain biking events like the Cape Epic gives you endurance and also helps with reading terrain.

Siegfried spent most of 2011 and 2012 as the Competitor Relationship Officer for the sport, where he helped competitors resolve queries with the organisers at the events.
