motorexpoMotorexpo organisers are inviting visitors to mark the start of the 2012 Canary Wharf-based event (11-17 June; motorexpo.com) in style, by attending an elegant Gala Dinner and charity auction in aid of UK Youth.

This superb occasion will take place on the evening of Monday 11 June – the first day of the show – and will be held in Boisdale, London’s premier Scottish restaurant, jazz and whisky bar.  Members of the public are able to attend, with tickets costing just £195 per person, and join a host of famous faces including motor racing legend Nigel Mansell CBE and His Royal Highness Prince Michael of Kent, both patrons of UK Youth.

Guests will be treated to a Perrier-Jouët champagne and canapé reception, followed by a sumptuous three-course dinner – created specifically for the occasion by the Boisdale’s Michelin-trained executive head chef Andy Rose – complemented by a selection of wines from Justerini & Brooks.

After the dinner, guests will have the opportunity to bid on a range of exclusive items in a charity auction, with all proceeds going to UK Youth.  Items going under the hammer will include a pair of paddock tickets for the British Grand Prix, dinner for two at The Ivy restaurant, and dinner for six at Boisdale, including the presentation of a signed Jack Vettriano print.

UK Youth is the official charity partner of the 2012 Canary Wharf London Motorexpo and monies raised from this opening event will go to support the charity’s innovative youth development work that reaches over 750,000 young people in the UK each year.  The charity focuses on providing non-formal learning opportunities for children and teenagers across the country.  By empowering them with responsibility and the skills to use it, UK Youth helps youngsters develop useful life skills and make a positive change to their communities.

Motorexpo CEO, Graeme Carver, commented, “We are delighted to be continuing our work with UK Youth and look forward to the Gala Dinner, which is set to be a spectacular occasion and the perfect way to celebrate the start of this year’s Canary Wharf London Motorexpo. A limited number of tickets are still available and we anticipate these going very fast.  We look forward to welcoming a sell-out crowd to Boisdale of Canary Wharf to join us and help raise vital funds in order that UK Youth can continue to deliver the excellent work for which they are famous.”

The UK Youth Gala Dinner takes place on Monday 11 June at Boisdale of Canary Wharf, with the champagne reception beginning at 6.00pm and dinner served from 7.30pm.
