ISUZU Aquila Dealership News

Leading commercial vehicle manufacturer Isuzu Truck has announced another major strategic dealer group addition for 2012, with the recent appointment of long-established commercial vehicle group Aquila Truck Centres, as its main dealers for the West Midlands and Shropshire.

And within a record breaking time of just 1 hour 13 mins from Aquila officially becoming an Isuzu truck dealer, the West Midlands based dealership were successful in sealing its first deal for new trucks, with Wolverhampton company ND Brown placing an order for two Isuzu Forward N75.190 tipper trucks for its rental fleet.

With effect from March 1, 2012 and operating through six depots in Walsall, Tipton, Tamworth, Whitchurch, Telford and Worcester, Aquila Truck Centres are now handling sales, service and parts for Isuzu Truck UK in this key geographic region. This major new appointment is part of Isuzu Truck’s continuous programme of strategic dealer development within the UK.

Commenting on this latest dealer news, Keith Child, marketing director at Isuzu Truck UK said: “Aquila have certainly got off to a flying start. From a geographical point of view, the six Aquila Truck Centre locations, in and around the West Midlands and Shropshire, are well placed to offer current and prospective Isuzu customers the full range of our products and services. Both companies share the same passion for customer support and the award-winning CARE programme that Isuzu offers mirrors exactly the approach that Aquila has achieved with its customers. ”

Aquila Truck Centres is one of the UK’s leading commercial vehicle dealership groups, supplying, maintaining and repairing fleets of trucks, coaches and specialist vehicles for over 400 customers, ranging from small contracts through to many large household names. The company currently employs in excess of 160 staff covering sales, service and parts and, in addition to the full range of commercial vehicle services. The company operates an impressive paint shop at its Aldridge site whilst its Telford location carries out petroleum regulations conversions and has an ATF lane.

At the opening of the Isuzu Truck franchise, Peter Jones, managing director, Aquila Truck Centres said: “With 24/7 facilities at all six of our depots, we are superbly placed to offer customers the full range of Isuzu trucks, which we know to be proven and reliable, and the Isuzu brand fits in well with the other marques offered by Aquila. The Isuzu truck range also allows Aquila to get back into different sectors with the smaller 3.5 tonne range, which again complements the Aquila offering within the West Midlands marketplace.”

In conjunction with the opening of the ITUK franchise on March 1st, Aquila also appointed Garry Jones as its Isuzu Franchise Manager. He heads up the Isuzu business operation based out of the Aquila Head office in Walsall.

As Peter Jones said, “Garry is extremely well-known within the West Midlands region, having worked for Aquila for a number of years in a variety of roles within sales and aftersales. His experience will ensure that our customers are offered a comprehensive all-round package to fully support their every need.”

It was Garry Jones, together with Isuzu Truck fleet sales manager Bob Holt, who visited the Wolverhampton company ND Brown on the first morning of Aquila opening as the Isuzu franchise for the West Midlands. In record time for a new Isuzu dealership, Garry and Bob were successful in completing Aquila’s first order, sealing the order from Nigel Brown at ND Brown for two Isuzu N75.190 rigids, both fitted with Stag tipper bodies and due to enter Browns rental fleet in April.
