Following the last round at Misano, the 2012 World Superbike championship has reached the halfway stage and regroups for round eight at a blisteringly hot Motorland Aragon in Spain.
Honda World Superbike Team riders, Hiroshi Aoyama and Jonathan Rea, approach the weekend’s racing from two slightly different points of view.
For Aoyama, it’s a return to a circuit he raced at during his spell in MotoGP. For Jonathan Rea, however, it’s a new circuit, the Northern Irishman having missed last year’s visit through injury.
Both riders talk from the Aragon paddock in temperatures above 40°C and describe their feelings ahead of free practice on Friday morning.
