The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter has once again been voted as the best of the large panel vans by Fleet Van; this is the fourth year that the Fleet Van Awards have been held and the Sprinter has won Large Panel Van of the Year each time!
Steve Bridge, Van Sales and Marketing Director for Mercedes-Benz UK, said: “We are thrilled to have received such a fantastic accolade for our trusty and reliable Sprinter van. To win any award once is a great achievement, to win an award twice in a row is a real honour, but to win the Fleet Van Large Panel Van award for four consecutive years is truly an outstanding triumph.”
The Fleet Van Awards are judged by a panel of industry experts, including Trevor Gelken, Editor of Fleet Van, Stephen Briers, Editor of Fleet News, Simon Harris, Deputy Editor of Fleet News, George Alexander, Editor of Glass’s Guide to Commercial Vehicles and Alastair Houston, Regional Manager of Northgate Vehicle Hire.
Trevor Gelken said: “The judges felt that (apart from the VW Crafter which comes off the same line as the Sprinter) no other van came close to the Sprinter in terms of build quality, technology, reliability and sheer good driving experience.
“The judges also felt that Sprinter beats Crafter as the cachet of the three-pointed star meant more than that of a VW badge and also because Mercedes-Benz offers a better standard of aftersales, servicing and repair than VW.”
