Michelin IpadMichelin has announced the release of four new Michelin guide 2012 Apps for iPhone – GB & Ireland, Germany, Italy and Spain & Portugal, Great Britain & Ireland – as well as an App for the Michelin guide Main Cities of Europe 2012. All are available from the App Store.

Hotels included in the 2012 Apps

The five new Apps can be accessed by iPhone users without an Internet connection (except for the GPS function and user comments) meaning that they can be used abroad at no additional cost. The applications are available in five languages – English, French, German, Italian and Spanish – and feature all the restaurants and hotels featured in each Michelin 2012 country guide.

A large number of practical functions

The main functions enable users to:

  • Search for a restaurant or hotel by its name or address or, if connected to the Internet, via global positioning.
  • Access all of their favourite hotels and restaurants.
  • Display the selected restaurants and hotels as a list, on a map or using augmented reality.
  • Book a table or room by phone and share their favourite places via e-mail, Facebook or Twitter.

In addition to the selection made by the anonymous Michelin guide inspectors, the App also enables users to post their opinions and consult those of others. To do so, they just create their own Michelin account directly from the App.

Prices are £6.99 for the four country destinations and £13.49 for Main Cities of Europe.
