Mr Zantovsky took office on 5 October 2009. The Czech Embassy represents the Czech government in the UK , assists Czech businesses and gives support to Czech citizens and expatriates living in the UK.

Due to Mr Zantovsky’s diplomatic status, the ŠKODA Superb hatchback will wear the diplomatic number plate CZE 1 and the red, white and blue national flag of the Czech Republic. The car will also be used to carry Czech ministers while on official state business in the UK.

Founded in the Czech Republic in 1895 by Vaclav Lauren and Vaclav Klement, ŠKODA is one of the world’s oldest car manufacturers, and proudly celebrates over 100 years of automotive production.

“ŠKODA is an iconic Czech brand and I’m proud to show my support. The Superb model boasts excellent design and comfort levels, in addition to a competitive price, so it was an obvious choice for the Embassy,” said Mr Zantovsky.

Martin Burke, Head of Fleet Sales at ŠKODA added: “We are very proud of our heritage and delighted to mark our special relationship with the Czech Republic by providing Mr Zantovsky with a Superb.

“The Ambassador was previously driven in a BMW, however we were able to demonstrate the substantial economic benefits of the Superb model. In addition, the vehicle offers both drivers and passengers executive levels of equipment, technology and build quality so we’re confident it will exceed the expectations of the Embassy.”

Mr Zantovsky’s vehicle will be supplied via the ŠKODA UK tax free dealer, Griffin Tax Free.

The Superb model originally dates back to the 1930s when it was designed with luxury and elegance in mind. Today’s Superb range builds on these strengths, with more rear legroom and boot space than many prestige chauffeur cars on the market and unrivalled technological advances such as AFS (adaptive front light system), touch screen technology and park assist.
