Cotswold Airport in Kemble, Gloucestershire is holding its inaugural Best of British Show this August and is on the hunt for Britain’s top hounds to enter a fun dog show. The event, which takes place on Sunday 26th and Monday 27th during August Bank Holiday weekend, aims to combine the most iconic of British culture, inventions, entertainment, food and drink.

Dog Show

Families planning to visit the Best of British Show are encouraged to enter their pet into the canine competition which will be hosted by Dogs Trust; the UK’s largest dog welfare charity.  Visitors’ four-legged friends can battle it out in a variety of fun categories including ‘Most Appealing Eyes’ and ‘Most Handsome Dog’, in a bid to be crowned top dog.

Shauna Stedman, Supporter Relations Officer for Dogs Trust Evesham commented: “Dogs Trust is delighted to be participating in the Best of British Show at Cotswold Airport.  Fun dog shows are a great way of raising awareness about responsible dog ownership and including the whole family in an enjoyable day out that has something for everyone.

“Dogs Trust relies on the generosity of its supporters, so participating in events such as the Best of British Show is very important to us,” Shauna added.

The fun dog show will see all the pooches parade their prowess and will culminate in a grand finale where one lucky pup will be crowned winner. The competition will be hosted in the Best of British Show arena by Cruft’s commentator Tracy Clarke. There’s much more! The Best of British Show will also cater for music fans on its own dedicated sound stage with three acts performing including Stroud-based ‘The Outcast Band’ who take their influences from folk, punk and rock.

Flying the British Flag In the afternoon of each day, flying the British flag during a three hour air display will be the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, Spitfire, RAF Hawk and RAF Tucano Display Teams, Ultimate High Extra300, Tiger Moths and much more including the Red Arrows who will display on Sunday and be based from Cotswold Airport for the entire show weekend.

Nostalgia Scenic pleasure flights will be on offer in the graceful de Havilland Dragon Rapide from £75, while helicopter flights will also be available with HH Helicopters from £35. Meanwhile classic cars and vintage military vehicles will be on display representing the British love of vehicles.
