Van der Westhuizen third overall in Port Elizabeth national MX

Hard-earned second and two third places in the day’s three races saw 14-year-old Pietermaritzburg schoolboy Dirco van der Westhuizen retain his overall third place in the High School class of the 2013 WOMZA national motocross championships at Port Elizabeth’s Rover Raceway last weekend.

ALTUS DE WET CONQUERS KEI NATIONAL ENDURO

Altus de Wet (Husqvarna Racing) became the third winner in the 2013 Liquorland National Enduro Motorcycle Championship when he won a wet, slippery and cold ‘KEI National Enduro’, the third round of the championship that took place on Saturday (11 May) at the Spring Valley Farms outside East London in the Eastern Cape. De Wet (28) won all three of the longer special timed stages during a well organised event where only a handful of points (seconds) separated the competitors.

EXPERIENCE VS EXUBERANCE – WHICH WILL PREVAIL AT ‘KEI NATIONAL ENDURO’?

Experience versus exuberance – which will prevail at the upcoming ‘KEI National Enduro’, the third round of the 2013 Liquorland National Enduro Championship that takes place on Saturday (11 May) at Spring Valley outside East London in the Eastern Cape? Seventeen year old Wade Young (Husaberg Alfie Cox Racing) and 23-year old Marc Torlage (Proudly Bidvest Yamaha) have scored a victory each with Young leading the overall standings, but they better not underestimate their more experienced opposition.

BMW Motorrad GoldBet SBK Team – WSBK – Monza – Preview

Munich/Milan, 6th May 2013. The next round of the 2013 FIM Superbike World Championship marks the first of three home rounds for the German-Italian BMW Motorrad GoldBet SBK Team. The fourth round of the season will see the series head to the iconic “Autodromo Nazionale di Monza” in the north of Italy this weekend (10th to 12th May). The race track is located close to the Milan headquarters of BMW Motorrad Italia, which is responsible for the works teams’ race and test outings as well as the chassis development.

In preparation for the high speed race at Monza, the BMW Motorrad GoldBet SBK Team factory rider worked with his BMW S 1000 RR in the wind tunnel at Munich.
