DUNCAN ALDRED APPOINTED ACTING OPEL AND VAUXHALL VICE PRESIDENT, SALES, MARKETING AND AFTERSALES

Alfred E. Rieck (56), a member of the Opel Management Board responsible for sales, marketing and aftersales, has resigned from his position. Duncan Aldred (43), currently Chairman and Managing Director, Vauxhall Motors, was named Acting Opel/Vauxhall Vice President, Sales, Marketing and Aftersales in addition to his current position, effective immediately.

VAUXHALL ANNOUNCES NEW AFTERSALES DIRECTOR

Andy RobsonLuton – Vauxhall has announced the following organisational change, effective from 1st December 2012.

Andy Robson, currently Retail Network Development Director, has been appointed Aftersales Director, GM UK and will report directly to Vauxhall’s Chairman and Managing Director, Duncan Aldred, as well as Opel/Vauxhall’s Executive Director of Aftersales, Markus Sternberg.

VAUXHALL VANS MARCH INTO POLE POSITION

Luton – Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles has secured top spot in the retail market for March and year-to-date according to figures released today by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.

The Luton-based manufacturer sold an impressive 2,494 vans to small businesses last month.

VAUXHALL SHOWS FASTEST GROWTH IN RETAIL SECTOR

  • Latest figures underpin brand’s increasing appeal to private buyers
  • Largest year-on-year increase of any UK car manufacturer last month
  • Biggest retail sales increase by volume in first quarter of 2012

Luton – Vauxhall showed the biggest leap in year-on-year retail sales last month, with 3701 more cars sold than in March 2011, according to analysis released today by the Society of Manufacturers and Traders.

Ground-Breaking Technology and Apprenticeships at Vauxhall

As many as 100 students from local secondary schools visited Vauxhall’s Apprenticeship Fair at Millbrook Proving Ground this week to explore career opportunities in automotive manufacturing.

Students aged 16-19 attended the Fair gaining insight into a variety of exciting career paths as the application process for apprenticeships has just begun to fill positions in the manufacturing, engineering and commercial arenas from September 2012. Positions will be offered at Vauxhall’s sites in Luton and also at Millbrook Proving Ground.

VAUXHALL SPECIAL VEHICLES GOES NORDIC

Police Insignia TourerLuton – Vauxhall Special Vehicles accompanied the Association of Chief Police Officers Intelligent Transport Systems (ACPO ITS) to the Norwegian Police Conference in Oslo in January to demonstrate the Single Vehicle Architecture fitted to its Astra and Insignia models.

The demonstration to Police forces in Norway follows successful previous presentations to the French Police at the British Embassy, as well as at Milipol in Paris in 2011.

Vauxhall Vivaro van and Vauxhall's Luton plant2011 is yet another year to credit outstanding production figures to Vauxhall in the commercial vehicle sector where the manufacturer outperformed potential competition with a stunning 60% share of the UK production.

Vauxhall – synonym for by far the largest commercial vehicle manufacturer in the UK – generates the bulk of its CV production at its Luton site, accounting for c57% of the total industry volume with Vivaro-type vans.
