A large crowd gathered around the War Memorial on Kimpton Road, Luton, on Sunday, honouring Vauxhall’s heroes who lost their lives fighting for freedom and peace in Europe. David Alexander, Vauxhall’s Chaplain, took a memorable service on Sunday, 11^th November, on a cold but bright autumn morning.

TWO HIGH FLYERS FUND RAISE FOR EAST ANGLIAN AIR AMBULANCE

auxhall’s award-winning Ampera joined the East Anglian Air Ambulance’s new helicopter at a fund raising event in Bedfordshire this week.

The East Anglian Air Ambulance’s latest addition to its helicopter fleet, a Eurocopter which will take on night flights in the region, was flown on Sunday to The Rufus Centre in Flitwick and parked next to Vauxhall’s Ampera in front of a wowing crowd. Continue reading →

VAUXHALL PRINCE HENRY COMMEMORATES WINTER TRIAL CENTENARY

Luton - A 100 year old Vauxhall model has recently celebrated the centenary of the Swedish Winter Reliability Trial by retracing the steps of the original event.

The Prince Henry model, owned by Alisdaire Lockhart of Selkirk, was driven from Gothenburg to Stockholm and back again, closely following the 1912 route, completing 620 miles (nearly 1000kms).

THE VAUXHALL ART CAR BOOT FAIR 2012 GETS BIGGER AND BETTER

London, 31^st May 2012: The UK’s most original art fair, the Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair, returned to the Old Truman Brewery for its 8th annual event with an exciting line-up of artists and entertainment.

Over 70 top British artists and collectives including Sir Peter Blake, Polly Morgan, Mat Collishaw, Tracey Emin, Bob & Roberta Smith, Pam Hogg, Jessica Albarn, David David, Ian Monroe, Pure Evil and Turps Banana packed the boots of Vauxhall vintage cars with one-off artworks and incredible bargains.

15 Vauxhall VX 220s Support Youth Skills Training

To mark National Apprentice Week and to support budding mechanics and engineers, Vauxhall has donated 15 VX 220 sports cars to universities and colleges across the country, reaching out as far as Scotland.

Barnfield College, next to Vauxhall’s headquarters in Luton and West Cheshire College, which is in the vicinity of Vauxhall’s Ellesmere Port plant, are also benefiting from this opportunity to improve diagnostic and technical skills using a high performance vehicle. Both colleges provide academic support for Vauxhall’s apprenticeship programme.

NEW YEAR GIFT FROM VAUXHALL TO THE COMMUNITY

Mir Juma, Director of CYCD with Amnah Yousaf The Centre for Youth & Community Development known just as CYCD has just received a wonderful New Year gift: Vauxhall is presenting the centre with a 17- seater Vauxhall Movano minibus for the year which can also be booked out by other local charities and organisations. Vauxhall’s purpose-built Movano minibus provides comfortable, safe accommodation for 17 people, including the driver. It is fitted with inertia-reel safety belts tested to passenger car standards on all of the seats making it a safe option when moving people around in the community.

VAUXHALL VOLUNTEERS BRING CHRISTMAS CHEER

For the tenth consecutive year, Vauxhall Visitors delivered hampers to elderly pensioners in Herts, Beds and Bucks prior to Christmas to spread some festive cheer.

The hampers were sponsored by Vauxhall’s Pensioner Association and many red-ribboned boxes with edible goodies were handed out during the festive season: the content had been carefully chosen and wrapped by staff from Vauxhall’s in-house Amex Office – another source of readily volunteering hands amongst the Vauxhall community – and many non perishable items such as tins of ham or fruit, packets of tea, jars of jam and Christmas biscuits found their way to a welcoming home.
