Audi begins 24-hour marathon

Ingolstadt/Nürburgring, May 12, 2012 – Audi is contesting three 24-hour races as factory commitments within the space of ten weeks this year – at the Nürburgring and at Spa with the R8 LMS ultra GT3 sports car and at Le Mans with the R18 LMP sports car. The classic Eifel event on May 19/20 that will be held for the 40th time and at which seven Audi R8 LMS ultra cars meet with strong competition marks the beginning of this marathon.

Power and efficiency – the powertrain of the new Audi A3

When the new A3 is launched, Audi will be offering one TDI and two TFSI engines – these three four-cylinder engines all make their appearance as new developments. Their engine displacements range from 1.4 to 2.0 liters and their power from 90 kW (122 hp) to 132 kW (180 hp). All engines follow the Audi downsizing philosophy – they substitute charging for engine displacement to achieve strong performance with low fuel consumption.
