The Funding Corporation launched its new ‘Employee Volunteer Programme’ in April of this year and its staff have taken the initiative and booked in several volunteering days at Alexandra House, a care centre owned and operated by BEN, the automotive industry charity.
Staff at the Funding Corporation are to be paid and thanked for not turning up to work as long as they spend the day volunteering and helping a national or local charity. The new scheme means each employee will be allowed to take one day off every year to give hands-on help to either BEN or a local good cause.
A group of staff from ACF Car Finance, part of The Funding Corporation group of companies, has already spent the day at Alexandra House Care Centre and very kindly took out a group of the less mobile residents’ for coffee, cake and fresh air. The residents and the volunteers enjoyed their day out and fantastic feedback was received from all involved.
Judith Holt, who works in the Customer Service Centre for ACF said “We felt very privileged to be able to spend a day at Alexandra House in the company of its staff and residents. The assistance which we provided was genuinely appreciated by everyone, and the experience certainly left us all with a great sense of satisfaction – especially as we were helping such highly committed, skilled and dedicated people behind this worthwhile cause.”
