Only a few days ago the whole world almost came to an end when millions of people around the world thought that the world will come to an end as a result of the Mayan Calendar that ended on December 21, 2012.
Doomsayers predicted that the Mayan People predicted the end of the world a thousand years ago, and therefore did not add more days and years to the Mayan Calendar.
There were basically two sides to the end of the world theories and believers, the one side believing that an apocalypse is going to take place and the world will end, and the other side making jokes about the Mayans and the people who believe the world is going to end!
Either way, today is January 1, 2013 and it looks like we made it into the New Year despite the doomsayers predicting the end of the world!
Today on January 1, 2013 when I opened my browser and saw the January 1, 2013 New Year’s Day 2013 Google Doodle and realized that despite the predictions that the world is going to end in 2012 we have made it and now have to focus on 2013 I was sort of relieved, not that I bought into the Apocalypse and the Mayan Calendar theories, but just glad that the world have survived another year!

On New Year’s eve 2012 most of us partied hard to ring in the New Year and today we have to clean up and get ready for 2013.
