Congestion on the UK’s roads this morning is considerably heavier than yesterday.
Figures from the TomTom HD Traffic Centre showed 4447 congestion hotspots across the UK at 08.45 this morning. This compares with 2973 at the same time yesterday.
Tailbacks stretched for 3610 miles, causing 439 hours of delays. Yesterday at 08.45 there were 2822 miles of tailbacks and 307 hours of delays.
Amongst the worst affected roads was the A380 in Devon heading towards Torbay, with 66 minutes of stationary traffic. And in Scotland, there were 69 minutes of stationary traffic on the A725 in Lanarkshire.
