Today February 22, 2013 if you visit the Google Homepage in certain countries like America, Australia the United Kingdom you will find the Edward Gorey Doodle. The Google was created in an Victorian Illustration, which represents some of Edward Gorey’s most famous works.

In short Edward Gorey was born 88 years ago in Chicago USA, many people though that he was actually British and not American because of his artistic styles which looked like it came out of the Victorian Era. He is the illustrator responsible some of the most well known illustrations in story books, you will find some of his work in the Dracula book by Bram Stoker, The World at War by HG Wells, and TS Eliot Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats to name a few.
He passed away in the Cape Cod Hospital, Hyannis, Massachusetts on the 15th of April 2000. His legacy were his art, and the many illustrations and book covers he designed.

A Personal note on the Edward Gorey Google Doodle. I believe that the Google Doodle Today have special meaning to the person’s who design Google Doodles at Google. These people are all artists and illustrators doing similar work as Edward Gorey. I personally love Google Doodles and the art work and illustrations that appear from time to time on the Google pages.
In most cases I get to increase my General Knowledge by clicking on the Google Doodle, reading what it is about and then reporting about it on the 3D Car Shows site.
