SHARK Helmets will be at Motorcycle Live from 24 November to 2 December presenting its new collection in the UK, following launches in Cologne and Milan. As well as brand new helmets, SHARK has created new divisions for each model range; Racing, Pulse, Discovery and Metro.
Racing Division:
The Race –R PRO Carbon is SHARK’s brand new top of the range helmet for 2013. Following the success of the RSR2, SHARK decided to create a carbon version of its premium helmet the Race –R PRO, which superseded the RSR2 last year. SHARK’s supported racers, including Michael Laverty, Sam Lowes, Stefan Bradl and Tom Sykes, all wear the Race-R PRO in BSB, MotoGP and SBK. The Carbon PRO has a significant noise reduction of 4.5db(A) compared to the current Race -R PRO. The helmet weighs just 1250g, has superb aerodynamics thanks to its shape and rear spoiler, has a five-star SHARP safety rating and has a bamboo fibre interior. The Race –R PRO Carbon is available in a variety of colours and priced at £479.99.
Discovery Division: Another new carbon helmet for 2013 is the Vision –R GT Carbon. An upgrade to the Vision –R, the GT has a bamboo fibre interior and SHARK’s air pump system to ensure a perfect fit. By adding the carbon/aramid the weight of the helmet has been slashed by 150g and weighs 1390g. Like the Carbon PRO, the GT has noise reduction of 2.3db(A) less than the Vision -R. The helmet also features SHARK easy fit for glasses wearers, where the glasses have a cut out in the side of the interior for the glasses to sit in. The Vision –R GT Carbon comes in various colours and priced from £349.99.
Metro Division:
An exciting new helmet is SHARK Raw. A completely new design for the company, the Raw is like nothing it has produced before. It is a jet helmet designed for urban riding, which features a protection mask and quick release goggles. A light helmet weighing 1300g, the Raw also features SHARK easy fit, bamboo fibre interior and has a ventilation system using vents and diffusers. It is available in a variety of designs and priced from £189.99.
Another new helmet in the Metro division is the SHARK Nano, a super-sleek and stylish open jet helmet. The visor on the Nano is a VZ140 ‘long trip’ that has air inlet diffusers, which allow greater de-fogging. As well as the SHARK easy fit, the helmet also has an easy to use built in sun visor and a bamboo fibre interior. The Nano is available in a host of designs and priced from £149.99
As well as the above new helmets, SHARK has introduced new colourways on the existing models and ALL visors now have a Pinlock option.
